matrioshka cushion

My sister-in-law gave me this matrioshka print fabric to make her a cushion.

I struggled at first with the border fabric - I'd bought a synthetic purple colored fabric, which I stitched as a border for the cotton matrioshka printr fabric. The differences in the fabrics' characteristics caused the inner fabric to be too loose inside the tight purple frame/border. So I got this bluish cotton fabric instead, same weave but a heavier weight. I think it worked well.

Since the blue fabric was so heavy, I stitched around the seam, to hold down the seam allowances. It wasn't necessary but I think it looks nice.

The cushion cover is not a flat front and a flat back, but rather has a gusset all around it, giving it "depth". I rather like that look.

There's still more fabric left... I don't know if my sister-in-law would like another identical pillow, or something more creative instead. Any ideas?
